Missing Truro Police Officer Found Dead, Man Arrested In Connection To Her Death

Halifax Police say they’ve found the body of a missing Truro Police officer and have a man in custody in connection to her death.

Police were investigating the disappearance of 36 year-old Catherine Campbell ever since she failed to show up for work on Monday.

Police say officers found female human remains in a wooded area east of Barrington Street at North Street, shortly after midnight.

They add they’re treating her death as a homicide and go on to say a 27-year-old Halifax man was arrested at 1:20 this morning in Clayton Park and is being questioned.

Police also now say that Campbell was seen at a downtown Halifax bar in the early morning hours of September 11th not at her Dartmouth apartment as originally reported.
