Minister Giving An Update On Donkin Mine, This Afternoon

Provincial Labour Minister Jill Balser is giving an update on what the government calls the safety file for the Donkin Mine, this afternoon.

Balser will be joined at the 2 o’clock news conference by geological expert Andrew Corkum who’s been hired by the province to carry out a review of the mine.

Today’s update comes after Kameron Coal laid off the remaining workers at the mine on Friday with no sign of when a stop work will be lifted.

The province issued the stop work order in July after the latest roof falls at the mine.
