Minimum Wage Going Up To $13.35 An Hour On April 1st

The province’s Minimum Wage Review Committee is recommending the minimum wage increase by 40 cents an hour on April 1^st to $13.35 an hour.

The committee is also recommending the minimum wage go up further to $13.60 an hour on October 1^st.

And it says the minimum wage should increase to $15 an hour by 2024.

Meanwhile, Premier Tim Houston says the government will accept the recommended increase for April 1^st.

However, he says he wants to talk with the members of the committee and hear more from employees and businesses before taking action on the two other recommendations.
