Glace Bay Dominion MLA John White and some Regional Councillors have a meeting with Nove Scotia Power representatives this afternoon to discuss the recent prolonged power outages in Glace Bay.
Councillor Steven MacNeil whose district covers the Caledonia area of Glace Bay says they plan to urge the power utility to make immediate improvements.
He says also up for discussion is how people and businesses should be compensated for any losses.
Ten thousand customers in the Glace Bay area were originally without power for about an hour and a half on Friday.
The remaining 5,000 customers in Glace Bay got their power back late in the day on Friday only to have it go out again early Saturday morning.
Nova Scotia Power says a damaged transformer at its Glace Bay substation caused the outages.
