Meeting On Proposed Coffee Shop In New Waterford, Tonight

People in New Waterford are being urged to come out to a public meeting this evening to discuss the possible opening of a coffee shop in the community.

Business operator Duke Fraser wants to put a Robin’s franchise and drive-thru on the King Street former medical clinic property next to the Hospital.

He says he’s submitted a site plan and adds he hopes to soon get approval from Regional Municipality to get the project started.

Area Councillor Lowell Cormier says the planning department will assess Fraser’s proposed traffic plan, as well as public reaction.

Fraser says depending on the volume of business, he hopes to employ up to 15 people.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 at the New Waterford fire hall.
