Meeting on Highway Project in Baddeck, Tonight

Victoria County has called a public meeting for tonight to discuss concerns about a road construction project on the Trans Canada Highway in Baddeck.

The provincial Department of Transportation plans to widen the highway and install a left-turning lane at the Irving and Tim Horton’s.

Jennifer Anderson lives directly across from the site and she says the speed limit should be reduced to 70 kilometres an hour when the new turning lane is built.

She also says there are traffic flow problems at the Irving site that sometimes sees transport trucks backed up to the highway.

Tonight’s meeting is due to get underway at 7:00 at the Baddeck Courthouse.
