McDougall-Merrill Not Re-Offering

Regional Mayor Amanda McDougall-Merrill will not be running again in October.

McDougall-Merrill says her family is the main consideration in making the decision.

She says her priority is to be with her children as they grow up.

McDougall-Merrill was elected to represent District 8 in 2016 and was elected Mayor in 2020.

Today’s news comes as former mayor Cecil Clarke plans to make an announcement about whether he’ll be seeking the office again.

The announcement will be made on May 16^th.
