Mayor Clarke Weighs In On Provincial Budget

Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke says he’s pleased yesterday’s provincial budget didn’t contain any further reductions.

However, he also notes that while equalization payments to the municipality have not gone down, they also didn’t decrease increase.

Clarke adds the budget also doesn’t specifically set aside money for the expansion of Sydney’s cruise ship terminal.

But Clarke says he hopes there may be some cash for the project in an increased Department of Transportation and Infrastructure budget.
