People going to hospitals and other health care facilities in the province will have to wear a non-medical mask, starting today.
Health Authority CEO Dr. Brendan Carr says the move is a way of reducing the spread pf COVID-19.
The new measure does not apply to patients admitted to hospital and children under two.
Staff working in non-clinical areas of hospitals will also not have to wear a mask if they can keep a six foot distance from others.
Meanwhile, non-medical masks will be mandatory on municipal transit buses and ferries in the province starting on Friday.
