Marion Bridge Man Charged After Reports Of Dog Being Dragged Behind Truck

SPCA Enforcement Officers have charged a 34 year-old Marion Bridge man after reports of a dog being dragged behind a truck in Marion Bridge on the weekend.

The SPCA says the dog was later pronounced dead.

Hugh Matthews is facing a count of causing distress to an animal, contrary to the Animal Protection Act of Nova Scotia.

He’s scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on October 27th.

People who say they witnessed what happened with the dog have posted accounts on social media.
