Man Seriously Injured After Attempted Louisbourg Break-in

Regional Police are releasing few details after a man was airlifted to Halifax hospital after what police believe was a failed break and enter attempt in Louisbourg, yesterday morning.

Police say the incident took place shortly before 6:00 on Gordie Street.

Also yesterday, police said they were questioning a Louisbourg man in his 20’s who they believe is the owner of the home where the assault took place.

The injured man’s age and hometown have not been released.

Police say he suffered serious head injuries and was unresponsive at the scene.

They add the two men involved in the incident may have known each other from a non-violent encounter earlier in the weekend.

Late yesterday, police said their investigation was continuing and no charges had been laid.
