Man In Custody After North Sydney Robberies

Regional Police say they have a man in custody after a robbery at the Circle K on Commercial Street in North Sydney, last night.

Police say officers responded to an alarm at around 8:30 when staff say a man came into the store and demanded cash and cigarettes before he ran away.

They say he was arrested a short time later when officers on patrol spotted a man matching the robber’s description.

Police say officers were in the area in response to an earlier reported robbery at the Pierce Street Dairy.

They say a man came into the store at around 7:30, demanded cash from the cash register and ran away.

Police say charges are pending.
