by The body of a man found dead in his cell at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre has been turned over to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
The Justice Department says the man was discovered unconscious and unresponsive at around 2:30, yesterday morning.
It adds staff immediately began medical treatment but goes on to say he was pronounced dead at 2:45.
The man’s name has not been released but officials say his next of kin have been notified.
