Man Due in Court After Lingan Road Arrest

A 32 year-old man accused in a break in at the Sydport Industrial Park over the weekend is due in court, today.

Regional Police say they arrested the man after they pulled over a speeder on Lingan Road at around 12:30 on Saturday morning.

They add the driver turned out to be wanted on court ordered conditions and was arrested for breaching those conditions.

Police go on to say they also learned the man’s vehicle was stolen and add they believe a number of items in the car were stolen as well.

Police also say they believe the man was responsible for the Sydport break-in that was reported later that morning.

The man is facing several charges including break and enter, possession of stolen property, breaching an undertaking and breaching a probation order.

He was held in custody at the Cape Breton Correctional Facility to await today’s court appearance.
