Man Due in Court After Attempted North Sydney Break-in

Regional Police say a 32-year-old North Sydney man will appear in Sydney Provincial Court after an Attempted Break and Enter in the community.

Gregory Paul Forrest is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Trespassing at Night and Breach of Probation.

Police say they got the call to West Street at around 3:00 yesterday morning about man trying to break into a garage.

They add three 15-year-old’s were sleeping in the garage when they heard someone trying to break in.

Police go on to say the teens chased the suspect down the road, caught up to him and knocked him down.

They say the suspect then slashed at one of the teens with a weapon causing a non-life threatening injury to the youth’s arm, before running away.

The injured teen was taken to the Regional Hospital for treatment and was later released.

Police say they were able to identify the suspect based on information provided by the teens.
