Man Dies After Falling Off Overpass Onto 125 Hwy, SIRT Investigating

The province’s police watchdog has been called in to investigate after a man died when he fell from an overpass onto the 125 Sydney Bypass, yesterday evening.

The Serious Incident Response Team says Regional Police were called to a possible altercation on the new overpass at the end of Upper Prince Street at around 5:00.

It says an officer found two men on the overpass when he arrived.

It also says after the officer arrived, the 27 year-old man fell off the overpass and was found dead on the highway below.

As a result, Regional Police contacted the SIRT and it sent three investigators to Sydney, last night.

The SIRT is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call it toll free at 1-855-450-2010.
