Regional Police have charged the man they arrested yesterday after a woman was found dead in a Gardiner Mines home.

40-year-old Richard Wayne MacNeil faces a count of first degree murder in the death of 33 year-old Sara Beth Ann Forbes.

Police say Forbes’ body was found inside a house at 87 O’Brien Street after they got a 911 call from the home at around noon, yesterday.

They add MacNeil was arrested at the scene.

Police say Forbes and MacNeil knew each other and neighbours say a couple lived in the home.

Grief counsellors are at Tompkins Memorial Elementary in Reserve Mines today where Forbes’ son goes to school.
