Man Charged In Hit and Run Crash Due Back In Court

The case of a Port Hood man charged in a hit-and-run involving a tourist in Inverness County is due to resume, today.

RCMP say the collision on Highway 4 in Port Hastings happened late one evening in August.

They add that the driver of the vehicle hit a 65-year-old man from North Carolina and then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to St. Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish and then airlifted to hospital in Halifax with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

27 year-old Tyson MacDonald was arrested a few days after the incident.

He faces charges of failure to stop at the scene of an accident and dangerous driving.

He’s been released from custody under several conditions.
