Man Charged In Fatal Reserve Mines Shooting Due Back In Court

A Ben Eoin man charged in a fatal shooting in Reserve Mines to due back in court today to enter pleas on two new charges.

25 year-old Brandon James Berthiaume faces a count of first degree murder in the death of 24 year-old Brandon Kelly in June.

He’s also charged with attempted murder for firing shots at a second man who was not injured.

Last month, he was charged with breaching a court ordered condition and disobeying an order of the court for contacting his parents from the Burnside Jail in Dartmouth.

Berthiaume has been ordered to have no contact with his parents.

His mother, 45 year-old Jennifer Lynn Chisholm, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder in her son’s case.
