A North Sydney man facing several charges after a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney is due back in court today to set a trial date.
Last month, 22 year-old Corey Patrick Richard Blinkhorn was committed to stand trial on counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, wearing a disguise in committing an offence and impersonating a police officer.
Blinkhorn has already elected to be tried by a Supreme Court judge alone.
He’s one of six people charged after the beating of now 49-year-old Shawn Curtis Jack in his camp near a grocery store last July.
Jack suffered serious head injuries after being attacked with a wrench and a hammer and remains in a rehabilitation centre in Halifax.
