Cape Breton Regional Police have charged a 20 year-old Glace Bay man with attempted robbery with violence after a woman was attacked while leaving the Bank of Montreal in Glace Bay, yesterday afternoon.
Police say they got the call at around 2:40.
They add the 71-year-old was heading to her vehicle in the parking lot at the Legion on Union Street when she was pushed to the ground by a man who attempted to steal her purse.
They say the man couldn’t get the purse and fled and the woman suffered facial injuries after hitting the ground.
Police say they got a description of the man and another man who may have been involved in the incident.
Officers later arrested two men matching the descriptions in the area.
Police say the second man was released from custody with no charges at this time.
