Man Charged After Sydney Chase Due Back In Court

A Sydney man charged after a police chase in Sydney last month is due back in court today for a plea hearing.

40 year-old Michael Joseph Didyk faces counts of Impaired Driving, Driving while Disqualified, and Flight from Police along with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Breach of Probation and Mischief.

Didyk was arrested after police say officers spotted a vehicle traveling at high speed on Alexandra Street on the night of January 29th.

They say the driver didn’t stop and continued through stop signs on Kent Street, George Street, Rotary Drive, Tain and Shandwick Streets.

The vehicle finally came to a stop after hitting a fence on Bristol Drive.

Police say the driver left the vehicle but was arrested nearby.

Didyk has been released on 5-thousand dollars bail.
