Man Charged After Sydney Armed Robbery

Regional Police arrested a 28-year-old Sydney man after an armed robbery at the Needs store on George Street in Sydney on the weekend.

The man’s name has not yet been released but police say he faces charges of armed robbery and disguise with intent, for having his face covered while committing an offence.

Police say they got the call to the store at around 7:00 on Saturday morning.

They add officers learned a man came into the store armed with a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.

He then ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were two customers in the store at the time but police say no one was injured.

Police add the man was arrested a short distance away from the store and their investigation continues.
