Man Charged After CBU Weapons Threat Due in Court, Today

An Eskasoni man charged after a weapons threat at Cape Breton University in late October is due back in court today to enter pleas.

23-year-old Bertram William Jr. Bernard is facing charges of uttering a threat and mischief.

Police say a threat was made over social media that someone was bringing a gun to the CBU campus.

However, no weapon was found after police searched campus buildings.

Bernard was later arrested following a police investigation and remains free on conditions.
