Man Arrested After Power Plant Break-In

A 42-year-old Glace Bay man was arrested yesterday after Regional Police say he was caught trespassing on the property of the Lingan Power Plant.

Police say they got a call at about 5:00 yesterday evening from on-site security staff who found an unknown person inside the secure area of the plant.

They say the fence had been cut near where the man’s vehicle was parked and tools were spotted inside the vehicle.

The man was arrested and later released on a Promise to Appear in Sydney Court on charges of Break and Enter, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Mischief.

The man’s name has not been released.
