Man Arrested After Armed Robbery Will Remain In Custody Until Monday Bail Hearing

A Sydney man arrested after an armed robbery in Whitney Pier will remain in custody until a bail hearing on Monday.

24 year-old James Joseph Francis faces a number of charges including Robbery with a Firearm, Wearing a Disguise with Intent and Mischief.

Police say they got called to a report of a robbery at Broadway Convenience on Victoria Road shortly after 9:30 on Wednesday night.

They say a man armed with a weapon came into the store with his face covered.

He demanded money from the clerk and got away with some cash.

He was later arrested near the scene.

Police say there were no injuries.
