by A Sydney Mines man charged with stealing a ring from a store in downtown Sydney is due back in court today for a plea hearing.
Edward Joseph Thomas Whitty faces a count of Theft and 6 Breaches of previous conditions.
The case stems from an incident at London Jewllers on Charlotte Street on December 27th.
Regional Police got called to the store after staff said a man had taken a ring valued at more than 4-thousand dollars.
Police say they searched the area for the man but couldn’t find him.
They add Whitty was arrested early last month with the help of tips from the public.
Whitty remains in custody after being denied bail.
