Man Accused of Making Obscene Comment and Gesture to TV Reporter Due in Court

The case of a 26-year-old Dartmouth man accused of making an obscene comment and gesture to a CTV reporter on live television is due back in court today.

Nash John Gracie faces counts of public mischief and causing a disturbance.

He was arrested after an incident involving CTV reporter Heather Butts who was reporting from a Halifax bar during a broadcast of the world junior hockey championship.

Gracie’s lawyer appeared on his client’s behalf in court last month and asked for more time to review the Crown’s evidence.

High-profile defence lawyer Joel Pink will be representing Gracie in the case.
