Mall Lockdown Suspect Due Back in Court, Today

A Sydney man facing charges stemming from a lockdown that took place at the Mayflower Mall last month is due back in court today for a bail hearing.

35 year-old Jonathan James Linders is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of breaching court orders.

Cape Breton Regional Police were called to the mall on the morning of April 22nd following a report that a man with a gun was spotted outside the building.

Police say the weapon turned out to be a BB gun.

Linders was arrested in downtown Sydney around noon that same day.
