MacLellan To Announce Miners’ Museum Funding

Glace Bay MLA and Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan will be at the Miners’ Museum tomorrow, to announce $50,000 in funding for the Glace Bay facility.

MacLellan says the money will be used to make some renovations to the downstairs of a company house at the museum site and create viewing space upstairs.

The MLA will also tour the museum, during his visit and talk to museum officials about major work needed on the museum’s main building.

Earlier this summer, museum staff said the building needs a million dollars in repairs and added they’d be looking for cost-shared funding from all three levels of government to carry out the work.
