MacEachen Remembered In Legislature

MLA’s paid tribute to former Cape Breton MP and federal cabinet minister Alan J. MacEachen as they started their day in the Legislature, this morning.

MacEachen died on September 12th at the age of 96.

Premier Stephen McNeil says MacEachen brought Medicare to the country and worked behind the scenes to repatriate the constitution and give Canadians a Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Inverness Progressive Conservative MLA, Allan MacMaster and NDP leader Gary Burrill also spoke about MacEachen’s legacy before MLA’s observed a minute of silence in his honour.
