LTC Restrictions Easing Next Week

The province is further easing COVID-19 restrictions for people in long-term care homes starting next week.

The changes will allow people to leave the homes to visit with family members.

Long-term care homes will be allowed to put the changes into effect on Monday of next week.

The Health Department says off-site visits will have to be arranged with the home, and the home will keep a record of the visits.

When they come back from the visit, people will not have to self-isolate as long as they follow health measures like wearing a medical mask, keeping physical distance and respecting gathering limits, as well as washing their hands often, and making sure the environment they’re in is clean.
