Louisbourg Hub School Meeting, Tonight

People in Louisbourg are being encouraged to come out to a meeting tonight for their last chance to provide input on efforts to save George D. Lewis School.

The Louisbourg school is one of 17 the School Board has slated for closure.

However, the Board has given a community group time to work on a so-called hub school proposal.

Hub schools offer other uses for school buildings including space for offices or businesses that help make the facilities more viable.

George D. Lewis Hub School Society Vice-President Brett Hanham says they’ve been working hard to put together a solid proposal to present to the Board by Tuesday’s deadline.

Tonight’s meeting gets underway at 7:00 at George D. Lewis School.
