Lobster Season Starts, Today

It’s opening day of lobster season in Eastern Cape Breton.

Fishermen from Bay St. Lawrence to Gabarus were due to set out at 5:00 this morning.

The season was supposed to begin on Monday but was delayed because of high winds.

The move means the season will now run until July 17th.
Lobster season in Western Cape Breton was delayed by a week because of high winds when fishermen from Broad Cove Marsh to Pleasant Bay set their traps on Saturday.
