Little Narrows Gypsum Quarry Reopening

The gypsum quarry in Little Narrows is being reopened.

CGC, the Canadian division of USG Corporation, says its investing 104 million dollars to reopen the Victoria County quarry that stopped operating in 2016 because of poor markets at the time.

CGC says the Little Narrows quarry will produce up to 2 million tonnes of raw gypsum a year, once it’s fully operational.

The company says revitalization of the quarry is expected to take up to three years to complete and will support more than 100 long-term jobs when production resumes.

The revitalization project includes a new dock and ship loader as well as a new crusher and conveyor systems.
