A Little Lorraine man charged after a weekend car chase from Sydney to Dominion has been remanded pending the outcome of a bail hearing today. Regional Police arrested 19 year-old Braeden Maxharraj early Saturday morning after officers spotted a Toyota Yaris travelling at a high rate of speed on Prince Street. Police flashed emergency signals trying to stop the driver, who continued on toward Glace Bay. Police say the man later fled the vehicle near Elm Street in Dominion and was arrested after a short foot chase. Maxharraj faces charges of impaired driving, exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon (a car), flight from police and assaulting an officer with the intent to resist arrest.
