Little Harbour Wildfire Contained, Crews Mopping Up

The Department of Natural Resources has issued its final update on the wildfire in Little Harbour, Shelburne County.

It says the wildfire is now under control at a final size of 56.5 hectares.

It says 17 Department staff, 3 volunteer firefighters and a helicopter remain onsite searching for hotspots and extinguishing them.

The fire was first reported on Sunday and led to the evacuation of 11 homes and 18 people.

They were able to return to their homes on Tuesday night.
