Ivany Recovering From Heart Attack

Sydeny native and Acadia University president Ray Ivany is recovering in hospital after having a heart attack, this week.

A university spokesperson says Ivany is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.

Ivany has been president of Acadia since 2009.

He’s held several other high-profile positions, including president and CEO of the Nova Scotia Community College, executive vice-president of Cape Breton University and chair of the province’s Workers’ Compensation Board.

He also chaired the Nova Scotia Commission on Building Our New Economy, which released what is widely referred to as the Ivany report.
