It’s Provincial Budget Day

Finance Minister Karen Casey will deliver the provincial budget, this afternoon.

She’s expected to present the Liberal government’s fifth consecutive balanced budget.

The capital plan released last week promises a billion dollars for roads, hospitals, schools and other infrastructure.

Both Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Houston and NDP Leader Gary Burrill say the increased spending signals what they believe is a pre-election budget.

Casey is due to deliver the budget shortly after 1:00.
