Injured Hiker Rescued From Franey Trail On Weekend

Ingonish Beach RCMP say they helped Parks Canada and paramedics rescue a hiker from the Franey Trail in the Highlands National Park on the weekend.

The Mounties say the got the call at around 2:00 on Sunday afternoon about a 57-year-old woman who got injured while hiking the trail and needed to be rescued.

They say a member of the Ingonish Beach RCMP used an ATV and entered the trail along with Parks Canada workers on ATV’s.

Police say the injured hiker was loaded onto a back board and was driven out of the trail by ATV.

They say that’s where paramedics took over her medical care, but there’s no word on her condition.
