Ingonish Man Facing Charges After Police Stop

A 25-year-old Ingonish man is facing several charges after RCMP stopped a vehicle for speeding in Ingonish on Saturday night.

Police say after officers pulled the vehicle over at around 7:30, they found marijuana and open liquor inside.

The driver was arrested and police add their investigation continued with a search of his home.

As a result police say they found more marijuana and other drug trafficking evidence.

The man faces drug trafficking and possession charges.

He’s also charges with Illegal Possession of Alcohol under the Liquor Control Act.

He’s been released custody and is due in court at a later date.

 

Police say their investigation is continuing.
