Inflation Rate Drops to 2.7% In April

Statistics Canada says Canada’s inflation rate was 2.7% in April.

That’s down from 2.9 percent in March.

The federal agency says the drop was moderated by gasoline prices that rose at a faster pace in April than March.

It says excluding gasoline, the all-items Consumer Price Index slowed to a 2.5% year-over-year increase in April.

That’s down from a 2.8% gain in March.

Nova Scotia’s inflation rate in April was 3.1 percent.
