IMP Halifax Subcontractor On Cormorant Helicopter Project

Defence Minister Anita Anand was in Enfield this morning to announce $1.168 billion in federal money to upgrade and expand the Cormorant helicopter fleet.

The contract has been awarded to British-based Leonardo U.K. Ltd. that’s subcontracting the upgrade work to IMP Aerospace in Halifax.

Anand says the project will see the Cormorant fleet increased from 13 to 16 and provide economic spinoffs.

Anand says workers from IMP will get on-the-job training in the United Kingdom.
