Houston Takes Break From Leadership Campaign After Brother’s Death

Progressive Conservative leadership hopeful Tim Houston says he’s taking a break from campaigning after the death of his brother.

Todd Houston died yesterday at the age of 44 after a surprise cancer diagnosis just two weeks ago.

The Pictou East MLA is among five candidates vying to become the party’s next leader.

Also in the running are Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke, MLA’s John Lohr and Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin and Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market Executive Director Julie Chaisson.

Party members will elect a new leader on October 27th.
