Hospital COVID-19 Visitor Restrictions Eased, Starting Today

The Health Authority is easing COVID-19 visitor restrictions at its facilities, starting today.

Effective, today, two family/support people are now allowed in intensive care units, for critically ill patients in the emergency department and for labour and birth.

The Authority says it will use a phased approach to easing visitor restrictions that will align with the timing of province’s reopening plan.

It says each phase is expected to last between two and four weeks.

It says factors including COVID-19 cases, the number of hospital and Intensive Care admissions and vaccination rates will be considered when easing visitor restrictions.
