Hit and Run Victim from Cheticamp

The family of the man killed in last week’s hit and run on the Trans Canada in Stewiacke say he was 57 year-old Brad Gouthro from Cheticamp.

They add Gouthro was on his way to the Halifax area for a medical appointment and to visit family.

They go on to say he was forced to thumb for a ride after the person he paid to take him to Halifax unexpectedly dropped him off at the Causeway.

Gouthro’s last known call was to his daughter to say he was stranded in the Stewiacke area.

Meanwhile, RCMP say they continue to search for the driver of the vehicle involved in Friday’s suspected hit-and-run.

Police say they got the call to the scene at 12:16 in the morning.

They add they have no information on what kind of vehicle may have hit Gouthro.
