High Winds Cause Power Outages, School Cancellations and Travel Restrictions

High winds and rain have left thousands of customers in the province without power, today.

Power outages in Cape Breton have led to the cancellation of classes at Donkin School as well as Brookland Elementary and Cusack Elementary in Sydney.

The Seal Island Bridge and the Canso Causeway are both closed to high-sided vehicles because of the high winds.

And ferry crossings to Newfoundland and PEI are cancelled, this morning.
