High Waves From Hurricane Gert

Environment Canada is warning swimmers to use extra caution today as the province experiences high waves brought by Hurricane Gert.

The federal agency says two to three metre waves and rip currents are expected, as a result.

It adds the maximum waves are reaching Cape Breton into today.

It goes on to say the waves will gradually go down throughout the day and into tomorrow from west to east.
