Heavy Garbage Pickup Underway, Today

Heavy garbage pickup is starting today in the Regional Municipality.

However, the municipality’s sold waste education coordinator Roschell Clarke says there are a number of items that won’t be collected.

She says that includes old microwave ovens, TV’s, computers and printers that can be dropped off at recycling depots in Sydney, Glace Bay, and the Northside.

Other items that will not be collected include all household hazardous waste including unused paint & empty paint cans as well as used oil & empty oil containers.

Propane tanks and cylinders, asphalt roofing shingles, vehicle parts and tires and large trees, stumps and branches will also not be collected.
