Heavy Garbage Going Ahead, Date Not Confirmed

Heavy garbage collection is going ahead this year in the Regional Municipality.

Public Works Director Wayne MacDonald told Regional Councillors this afternoon tenders will go out as soon as possible.

MacDonald says a date has yet to be set but it’s expected heavy garbage will get underway by the end of next month.

Upon hearing today’s news, Councillor Cyril MacDonald aired frustration over the yearly uncertainty about heavy garbage and the complaints that come from it.

The topic was prominent during recent budget talks as councillors tried to find ways to deal with a shortfall in the operating budget.
